We are here to tell you the comfort of these hiking socks are out of the park. These outperform the Danish Endurance Merino wool, and Darn Tough Light Micro Crew in terms of comfort all day.

First off, they're constructed with approximately 66% Merino wool the rest being spandex and nylon. This is a very rare combination of  materials which makes these hiking socks very unique. 

The best way to describe wearing these hiking socks is like having a small cushion under both of your feet that is nice and plush as well as forgiving. The best part is the spandex does not allow the hiking sock to slip down your calf as you experience with many other Merino wool hiking socks. 

This hiking sock is excellent to wear year-round with great overall comfort and performance. 

Warmth 9.5/10

Obviously this hiking sock main ingredient is merino wool which keeps you warm throughout your winter and fall hikes. I would argue that having such a versatile pair of hiking socks is more than worth it saving you money in the long run. What else could you ask for while these hiking socks are keeping you from overheating in the summer and keep you warm in the winter. 

While hiking in the winter they also do a great job of keeping you dry. Even in wet snow conditions these hiking socks dry extremely quick especially in the sunlight. I also tend to use these socks throughout the winter with my normal boots when shoveling, snowblowing, or just going out on errands. If you want the most warm hiking socks I suggest the Smartwool classic.

Breathability 10/10

Once again the versatility of the Darn Tough Hiker Full Cushion cannot be understated. Well it keeps you warm in the winter, the breathability throughout the summer months are excellent. The breathability is similar to the Farm To Feet Damascus.

Say goodbye to sweaty feet on the trails during the summer. The wicking and drying ability of these hiking socks are second to none. Somehow they were able to design these hiking socks with a ventilation system that works excellent in the warmer months.

Moving towards the top of the sock,  the material begins to get slightly thinner as it moves to more elastane. I noticed the sock is more breathable from the ankle to the calf which makes sense because this part is exposed to air. 

Durability 10/10

Despite using these hiking socks over 2 years on multiple treks, hikes, and daily chores I've yet to put a hole in either of them. They also did not wear or get thin at the bottom of the foot as do many hiking socks. 

Being able to use these hiking socks year-round without any breakdown is such great value in the end.While some other hiking socks are great in the beginning, if you begin to notice wear within a few hikes what’s the point?
